Today, we are going to talk about citation.
Many people choose to publish their research output mainly because they want more people to know about their research findings and hopefully, they can gather a group of people to do a similar research topic together for a better world.
Of course, the trade secret of your technology business can be reserved for publication if you do not want to tell the world that this is how your business going to work; you are not right and you are not wrong in this case since you choose not to disclose the research findings of your business flow or process. I have many publications related to the technology about all my 20 startups, yet, these are the trade secrets of my business technology, yet, they can be published just like Google when my startups and I are famous and established with many investment funds secured.
When you are running a business with high technology, of course, filling patents are good, yet, your effort and reward as the pioneers in this research arena must be recognized, yet, when the number of citations for your publication is big means you are getting many researchers who are keen into your research arena and it does not mean that it is something very good or impactful. We can only be sure that many researchers are keen to explore and work in this research domain or arena when your papers' citations is having a big number.
Imagine that you are publishing a paper related to black holes, may I ask how many of them are going to cite your papers in Malaysia since none of the Malaysians are doing this research topic? The answer is "ZERO".
I'm Hui-Shin Wong, Wong Hui Shin or Shyan H. Wong.
