MYR is Malaysian Ringgit.
When I was a graduate with a Master of Science in Information Technology in year 2005, I travelled cross-continentally in USA. When I was in Chicago Union Station, I read a magazine leaflet which triggered my respect to USA. The content of this leaflet would be a combined income of MYR 3000 monthly in a family in Malaysia was considered rich due to this family can have food with nutrient, travel locally or abroad, subscribe to a mobile phone operator, watch movies and news using your TV at home, own a car, having an email address and have a permanent address. The permanent address is your property under your name no matter it is fully owned or under loan installment. If you are a female with a marriage, your permanent address could be under your husband's name. If you are children, your permanent address could be under the name of your father, mother, grandfather or grandmother.
This benchmark did not have any discrimination on what type of accommodation, transport and food you have to be registered as a known citizen in Malaysia. As long as you have an accommodation, i.e. a permanent address, a handphone number, an email account, paying electricity and water, travel locally or abroad, eat food with nutrient such as Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) with a lot of protein, decently fat for smooth face and body complexion and many others. Pizza Huts is another great deal in Malaysia; a PAN or Personal Pizza is slightly more than MYR 5. A pizza with TUNA is a great deal since TUNA is an import nutrient with protein and many mineral.
If your parents are having a combined income of MYR 3000 in year 2005, your family is rich from this United States of America Income Level Benchmarking. Hence, USA is always a champion due to the way how they evaluate DATA and form a conclusion. This is what my brother-in-law's brother-in-law, Ming-Kin Chai's brother-in-law shouted loudly about this way of evaluation and benchmarking are superb.
Respect you, United States of America! Individual income of USD 1000 monthly for those in USA is rich.
