A. PENGENALAN PROGRAM SKIM BIASISWA MyBrainSc SCHOLARSHIPS
Biasiswa MyBrainSc ini terbuka kepada seluruh warganegara Malaysia yang sedang atau akan mengikuti pengajian di peringkat Ijazah Sarjana Muda dan Pasca Ijazah Khas secara sepenuh masa dalam bidang sains tulen iaitu Fizik, Kimia, Biologi dan Matematik di Universiti Awam (UA) dan universiti terkemuka dunia atau bertaraf Ivy League.

Program ini merupakan salah satu agenda Kementerian Pendidikan Tinggi untuk mencapai matlamat Pelan Strategik Pengajian Tinggi Negara (PSPTN) dan menghasilkan saintis-saintis muda yang berjiwa besar dan berani menyahut cabaran menghasilkan cendekiawan yang bertaraf dunia dan akhirnya diiktiraf sebagai Nobel Laureate.

C. SYARAT PERMOHONAN
Syarat-syarat permohonan adalah berdasarkan 3 kategori berikut:

1) Ph.D;
  • Calon adalah warganegara Malaysia;
  • Berumur tidak melebihi 35 tahun pada tarikh memohon;
  • Calon telah mendapat keputusan cemerlang di peringkat Ijazah Sarjana Muda dalam bidang sains tulen iaitu mendapat sekurang-kurangnya PNGK 3.65 ke atas atau Kelas Pertama;
  • Calon tidak mempunyai sebarang ikatan kontrak dari mana-mana penaja semasa di peringkat pengajian terdahulu atau pihak penaja bersedia melepaskan ikatan kontrak jika ditawarkan biasiswa ini;
  • Calon yang sedang berkhidmat di mana-mana sektor awam atau swasta dan bersedia untuk melepaskan jawatan sekiranya di tawarkan biasiswa ini;
  • Calon yang sedang mengikuti pengajian di peringkat sarjana secara penyelidikan penuh akan diberi keutamaan; dan
  • Calon sedang mengikuti pengajian Ph.D atau telah mendapat tempat mengikuti pengajian dalam bidang sains tulen sama ada di dalam negara atau di universiti-universiti melalui portal permohonan.
2) Sarjana;
  • Calon adalah warganegara Malaysia;
  • Berumur tidak melebihi 28 tahun pada tarikh memohon;
  • Calon telah mendapat keputusan cemerlang di peringkat Ijazah Sarjana Muda dalam bidang sains tulen iaitu mendapat sekurang-kurangnya PNGK 3.65 ke atas atau Kelas Pertama;
  • Calon tidak mempunyai sebarang ikatan kontrak dari mana-mana penaja semasa di peringkat pengajian terdahulu atau pihak penaja bersedia melepaskan ikatan kontrak jika ditawarkan biasiswa ini;
  • Calon yang sedang berkhidmat di mana-mana sektor awam atau swasta dan bersedia untuk melepaskan jawatan sekiranya di tawarkan biasiswa ini;
  • Mod pengajian mestilah dalam mod penyelidikan dan sepenuh masa; dan
  • Calon sedang mengikuti pengajian di peringkat Sarjana atau telah mendapat tempat mengikuti pengajian dalam bidang sains tulen sama ada di dalam negara atau di universiti-universiti yang disenaraikan melalui portal permohonan.
3) Ijazah pertama;
  • Calon adalah warganegara Malaysia;
  • Umur tidak melebihi 21 tahun pada tarikh memohon;
  • Calon memperolehi sekurang-kurangnya PNGK 3.6 dan ke atas di peringkat Asasi Sains/Matrikulasi/STPM/Diploma, Skala 1800/2400 untuk semua ujian dalam SAT, 40/45 dalam IB dan 4A dalam A Level;
  • Pelajar-pelajar yang berada di semester akhir di semua IPT; dan
  • Pelajar belum lagi menerima menerima sebarang biasiswa / tajaan / ikatan perjanjian dari mana-mana penaja.
D. PERJANJIAN
Calon yang layak akan dikenakan ikatan perjanjian dan tempoh kontrak berkuatkuasa adalah bergantung kepada tempoh pengajian yang dibiayai oleh Kementerian. Kementerian berhak menarik balik penajaan serta mengenakan tuntutan gantirugi ke atas calon sekiranya;
  • Calon diberhentikan oleh pihak IPT kerana masalah disiplin, kelemahan akademik atau sebab-sebab lain yang digariskan oleh syarat program dan perjanjian ini; dan
  • Calon menarik diri dalam tempoh tajaan tanpa kebenaran.
E. PERMOHONAN
  • Permohonan dibuka setahun sekali bermula pada 4 Januari 2016 hingga 29 Februari 2016
  • Permohonan perlu dibuat secara atas talian (online) melalui Portal KPT
  • Permohonan perlu dibuat secara atas talian sepenuhnya dengan klik menu LOG MASUK di atas, dan mendaftar sebagai pengguna sistem. Permohonan secara manual tidak akan diproses
  • Pemohon hendaklah memastikan rancangan penyelidikan (proposal) telah dipersetujui dan disahkan oleh penyelia bagi peringkat pengajian Sarjana dan PhD
  • Semua dokumen sokongan yang disertakan perlu diimbas (scan) dari dokumen asal dan disimpan dalam format imej (JPEG) atau PDF dan perlu dimuatnaik (upload) dalam sistem permohonan atas talian ini. Dokumen yang diambil (capture) menggunakan kamera tidak akan diterima
  • Jika tiada dokumen asal, pelajar boleh mengimbas dari dokumen salinan photostat tetapi dokumen tersebut perlu diakui sah oleh pegawai Kerajaan / badan berkanun dari Kumpulan Pengurusan dan Profesional (Gred 41 dan ke atas) / Penggawal / Ketua Kampung / Ketua Masyarakat.
  • Dokumen sokongan yang perlu dimuatnaik adalah seperti berikut:
i) Permohonan peringkat Ijazah Sarjana Muda :
    • Kad Pengenalan Pemohon (depan dan belakang)
    • Gambar berukuran passport
    • Slip Keputusan SPM
    • Transkrip penuh Asasi/Matrikulasi/STPM/IB/A-level/Diploma/SAT
    • Surat Tawaran Universiti (jika ada)
ii) Permohonan peringkat Master :
    • Kad Pengenalan Pemohon (depan dan belakang)
    • Gambar berukuran passport
    • Slip Keputusan SPM
    • Transkrip penuh Ijazah Sarjana Muda
    • Rancangan penyelidikan
    • Surat Tawaran Universiti (jika ada)
iii) Permohonan peringkat PhD :
    • Kad Pengenalan Pemohon (depan dan belakang)
    • Gambar berukuran passport
    • Slip Keputusan SPM
    • Transkrip penuh Ijazah Sarjana Muda
    • Transkrip penuh Master
    • Rancangan penyelidikan
    • Surat Tawaran Universiti (jika ada)
F. KAEDAH PEMILIHAN
  • Ujian saringan bagi mengenalpasti kecenderungan dalam bidang sains tulen; dan
  • Penilaian oleh panel penilai penemuduga yang dilantik; dan
  • Pemilihan bersama dengan agensi penaja lain seperti JPA, MARA dan lain-lain.

The Shell Malaysia Scholarship 2016 opens for application from Monday, 11th January 2016 to Wednesday, February 10th 2016.

At Shell, we are always on the lookout for remarkable graduates that help us to pioneer new ways to meet the world’s demand for energy, to build and develop the capabilities of today’s talent that will ultimately contribute towards the development of this nation.

Since its inception, Shell Malaysia has sponsored more than 1500 deserving graduates to pursue their higher education in various fields of studies relevant to the Oil and Gas industry. It is a platform for students who are intending or currently pursuing their full-time undergraduate and postgraduate studies in universities recognised by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia (MOHE), both locally and abroad.

Fields of Studies
We are looking to sponsor students intending or currently pursuing their higher education in the following fields of studies:

Engineering: Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Petroleum, Electrical & Electronics

SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION TO SHELL MALAYSIA SCHOLARSHIP HERE

Step 1 - Online application

    Create an account, or login via an existing account
    Apply and upload the latest version of your CV/résumé
    Before submitting your application you will be asked to complete an online questionnaire

Step 2 - Online assessment

If successful during the application stage, you will receive an e-mail notification with instructions on how to complete the online assessment. There are two parts to the online assessment.

* NOTE: Each part must be completed and submitted within 7 working days before the links within the e-mails you receive expire.

Part 1: A series of competency-based questions

These will take approximately 20 minutes to complete and will not be timed. Once completed, you’ll receive an email notification and this includes a link to begin Part 2 of the online assessment.

Part 2: Consists of two tasks: a decision-making and a problem-solving task: You will need to complete both tasks.

* NOTE: The decision-making task is not timed, but the problem-solving task does have a time limit. This assessment should take around 45 minutes to complete in total.

The decision-making task assesses how you respond to common situations that Shell graduates may face, and the problem-solving task assesses your capacity for solving numerical reasoning problems.

Step 3 - An interview

Once you have submitted Part 2 of the online assessment we will review the results before contacting you to discuss a potential interview.

The interview will be conducted via telephone. This is an opportunity for you to tell us more about your motivations for applying, your achievements, the challenges you've faced and how you've demonstrated the qualities we're looking for- What We Are Looking For.

Successfully passing your interview we will review for possible face-2-face Shell Scholarship Assessment.

Step 4 – Shell Scholarship Assessment

Following your success in the first-stage interview, you will be invited to attend a half day assessment  where you will complete a range of assessed exercises covering group discussion, written task,  self-reflection interview, case study presentation and final interview.

Khazanah - Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies Merdeka Scholarship Programme

The Khazanah-Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies Merdeka Scholarships, established to mark the 50th anniversary of Malaysia's independence, are intended to enable outstanding Malaysian students to undertake postgraduate study at the University of Oxford. Subject areas may be drawn from a range of fields.

Candidates are required to demonstrate a high level of academic achievement, and how their study will make a contribution to the future needs of Malaysia. Awards will include university and college fees, accommodation and subsistence allowances, and return air fares.

Scholarship Eligibility
  • Candidates, must be citizen of Malaysia, should have an excellent record of academic achievement and a proven capacity for independent research.
  • Attention will also be given to the personal qualities of the candidates in terms of their leadership potential and ability to communicate.
  • Candidates will be expected to show how their future careers and wider interests of Malaysia will benefit from a period of study at Oxford.
  • Award of scholarship is condition to candidates secured placement in University of Oxford.

How to Apply
To apply, applicants are required to submit the following:
  1. The completed application form. Click here to download the application form
  2. A signed personal statement of not more than 1,000 words that includes a description of the intended area of study and describe how this will benefit Malaysia. The statement should also outline the applicant's reasons for wanting to study at Oxford, and summaries the personal qualities that would make them a worthy recipient of a scholarship
  3. A list of academic qualifications and other awards and honours received
  4. A statement of the status of their application to the University of Oxford
  5. Two confidential letters of recommendation from referees who can assess in details the applicant's academic performance and potential. Two recommendation letters must reach the Oxford Centre for Islamic studies by the application deadline.
